Abstract | ||||
Improving energy use in commercial buildings contributes towards sustainability, and Egypt, being a country in need of plenty of energy, can gain from this. This study examines improving energy use in Egypt's commercial buildings with smart solutions and alternative sources of energy. The study contrasts Egypt's Raya Plaza and UAE's Dubai Festival City Mall with regard to their use of Building Management Systems (BMS) for enhanced performance of energy. The two use effective means of controlling energy, with Raya Plaza exhibiting significant improvements from smart solutions. Dubai Festival City Mall provides a perfect example of low-energy solutions on a massive scale. The study identifies significant problems in Egypt, such as limited funds, regulations, and low knowledge of low-energy practices. The study indicates that adapting from other regions and developing policies and financing for novel solutions can be of significant value for Egypt's performance of its businesses. The study offers valuable lessons for anyone interested in utilizing low-energy solutions and maximizing the performance of commercial buildings. | ||||
