Abstract | ||||
Iodide is an essential micronutrient with significant industrial and therapeutic applications. To assess its concentration accurately, various analytical techniques have been employed. The electrochemical determination of iodide is regarded an accurate and exact approach, particularly when using potentiometric ion-selective electrodes (ISEs). Potentiometric ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) offer a reliable and precise method for measuring iodide levels. These sensors are favored due to their low cost, compact size, portability, low energy consumption, and ease of installation. This article discusses the determination of iodide ions using various types of potentiometric iodide-selective electrodes, including PVC-based, carbon paste (CP), screen-printed, and solid-state electrodes. The use of ISEs for iodide measurement is characterized by simplicity, accuracy, a wide working concentration range, rapid response times, and low detection limits. Additionally, successful iodide assessments have been conducted in diverse biological, pharmacological, and water samples, demonstrating satisfactory recoveries. Furthermore, the iodide potentiometric sensors were used as indicator electrodes in the potentiometric titration procedure, yielding substantial findings. | ||||
