| Abstract | ||||
| Groundwater salinity is one of the most important problems facing cultivation in newly reclaimed lands, reducing the productivity and quality of agricultural crops. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of magnetic water irrigation and spraying with antioxidant compounds such as (ascorbic and fulvic acids each at 100 and 200 ppm) as one of the methods and strategies to ameliorate the deleterious effects of salinity stress on the growth and productivity of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) plant. The present investigation was carried out in a private farm in Qalabcho, Gamasa region, Dakahlia governorate, Egypt, during the two consecutive growing seasons of (2019/2020) and (2020/2021). The results revealed that, magnetic water and anti-salinity substances helped to reduce salinity stress on growth and productivity of coriander plant. Magnetic irrigation water had a significant positive effect on all studied parameters compared to non-magnetic irrigation water in the two seasons of this study. Regarding anti-salinity antioxidant compounds treatments indicated that the highest mean values for most growth of the characters; fruit yield, essential oil productivity and chemical constituents were recorded in plants sprayed with high concentration 200 ppm of ascorbic acid compared with other treatments and control for both seasons. The study results showed that it is possible to produce coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) plant under water salinity conditions in newly reclaimed lands by using magnetic water technology for irrigation and foliar applications with anti-salinity compounds. | ||||
