Abstract | ||||
This research aims to study Mamluk wooden artifacts as rich artistic models characterized by distinctive aesthetic and technical qualities, which can be utilized as a cognitive foundation to enhance the skills of students in the Wood Industries Technology program at Egyptian technological universities. These artifacts, known for their precision and craftsmanship, employed various techniques such as carving, inlaying, perforation, and geometric assembly—making them a valuable source of theoretical knowledge in the field of woodcraft. The research adopts a descriptive analytical approach, focusing solely on the cognitive dimension by examining the artistic and technical features of Mamluk wooden works. It highlights their aesthetic and compositional values and explores their potential role in enriching the design thinking of students and specialists in wood industries. The study also emphasizes the importance of drawing inspiration from Islamic artistic heritage in developing theoretical curricula in technological and vocational education programs. | ||||
