Abstract | ||||
Domestic tourism represents an important sector of the tourism industry in any destination for several reasons: First, domestic tourism contributes significantly to the local economy, as tourists spend money in their home countries, in addition to its high growth rates. The problem of this study is the decline in the quality of tourism and hotel services in Egypt due to economic inflation and the increasing costs of producing these services. This has restricted the owners of these establishments to either providing the same quality of service at a higher price or reducing the quality of services provided at the same price. This has affected Egypt's image as a tourist destination and tourist satisfaction. A questionnaire was designed and directed to Category A tourism companies to determine their perspectives on the extent to which inflation has affected the quality of tourism and hotel services and their level of satisfaction with that quality. It also sought to determine the perspectives of tourism companies regarding domestic tourists' satisfaction with the quality of the various tourism and hotel services provided in the tour program. The study revealed that 74% of Egyptian tourism companies believe there has been a significant increase in the prices of tourism goods and services and hotels in the Egyptian tourism market for local tourists. 63% of tourism companies also believe that economic inflation has negatively impacted the quality of local tourism trips offered to tourists. | ||||
