Abstract | ||||
Generative AI tools, including ChatGPT for text-based outputs and DALL-E for image creation, have emerged as transformative technologies in the graphic design industry. This study explores the impact of generative AI on the creative processes in graphic design, focusing on how these tools enhance efficiency and innovation. A qualitative methodology was employed, involving a thematic analysis of seven journal articles to address the formulated research questions. The results indicate that generative AI significantly enhances the creative process by enabling rapid ideation and allowing designers to concentrate on more complex aspects of their work. Despite these advantages, outputs from the generative AI were limited to the production space that the algorithms were trained on, presenting a challenge for achieving true innovation. Future research should investigate how generative AI can be developed to transcend its training data and be more effectively integrated into collaborative design environments. This study offers valuable insights for graphic designers and brand managers on the strategic use of generative AI to foster creativity and maintain a competitive edge in the industry. | ||||
