Abstract | ||||
Financial Technology (Fintech) is reshaping traditional service industries, including tourism, by introducing innovative payment systems, digital financing solutions, and automated service tools. As Egypt works to modernize its tourism infrastructure, understanding the sector’s readiness to adopt Fintech becomes essential. This research aims to assess the preparedness of the Egyptian tourism sector for Fintech adoption, and to identify the most pressing challenges hindering its application. The study employs a descriptive-analytical methodology through a structured questionnaire distributed to 152 IT professionals working in travel agencies, hotels, Tourism Transport Companies and bazaars. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics via SPSS v25.0. The results demonstrate a high degree of readiness in terms of infrastructure and human capital. However, challenges persist, such as inadequate financial allocations, lack of strategic planning, and technical and institutional barriers. Statistical analyses also revealed significant variations in readiness and obstacles across sub-sectors. The study recommends targeted interventions to strengthen weak areas, encourage investment in infrastructure, and improve digital awareness and trust among stakeholders to ensure inclusive and sustainable Fintech integration across the Egyptian tourism industry. | ||||
