Abstract | ||||
Aim: The study aims at analysing the efficacy of GTR in vertical bone defects utilizing barrier membranes and PRP. Materials and Methods: Twelve cases of vertical bone abnormalities are studied. All had a present vertical bone defect and met the study eligibility criteria. Six to eight weeks after completion of the Hygiene Phase, patients were reassessed. At this stage, after registration of the current periodontal status, a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) examination is ordered. Before surgical treatment, 3 clinical and 3 radiographic parameters were recorded. The same parameters were again assessed 6 months after GTR with barrier collagen membrane and PRP. Results: The 6th month after regenerative therapy with barrier membrane and PRP in vertical bone defects showed a significant improvement in both clinical and radiographic parameters. Conclusion: Data analysis indicated that employing GTR with a barrier membrane and PRP in vertical bone defects is a trustworthy technique with remarkable clinical and radiographic outcomes. This study is innovative and is associated with some limitations, such as the relatively small number of patients enrolled in the study and the relatively short follow-up period for treatment outcomes. | ||||
