Abstract | ||||
Large-scale field tests were carried out to evaluate the integrated use of insecticides and pink bollworm pheromone formulations for controlling P.gossypiella in Zagazig, El-lbrahemya, and Diarb Nigm districts, Sharkia Governorate. Results obtained are summarized as follows : 1- Rope PBW formulation There were no significant differences in male moths catches in funnel traps in test fields comparable with each other until the 2nd week of June. Then, trap catches in the field treated with PBW-ROPE dispensers were virtually eliminated (Zero moths) until September 9th in comparison with the untreated fields. Analysis of variance of male moths caught in pheromone traps showed that there were significant differences in male moths between the different treatmets. As for the percentage infestations of cotton bolls by P.gossypiella larvae, pheromone-insecticides treatment, revealed the lowest infestation in comparison with insecticides treated and untreated fields_ Analysis of variance between the male moths caught in the traps baited with Pectinophora pheromone in the different treatments showed that there was no correlation between the number of male moths caught and the percentage of infestation in pheromone-insecticides treated plots. While in insecticides treated and untreated fields there was a clear positive correlation between the male moths and the percentage of boll infestation. | ||||
