Abstract | ||||
This paper is concerned with analyzing the translated texts using sociosemiotic multimodal approach. In order to do that, the paper concentrates on many points. First, it First of all, investigating the procedures and outcomes of translation requires the creation of meaning. Second, meaning-making depends heavily on interactions between sign systems and external surroundings. Thirdly, language and other semiotic modes should be viewed as equal resources for representing meaning potentials in the translation process, By taking a social semiotic approach to translation, one can develop a methodical method for examining the meanings that are conveyed between two closely related texts that use one or more semiotic modes. Therefore, in addition to its possible value in translation studies, the work provided here is probably going to support research in the fields of cross-modal and cross-cultural semiotics studies. The data of this paper is the Arabic novel Tholathiat Gharnada (1994-95) and its translation from Arabic into English rendered by Granara (2014). | ||||
