| Abstract | ||||
| In recent years, the world has faced major challenges, such as the huge amounts of waste of different sizes, shapes and types that have become a direct threat to human, animal and plant’s lives. The concept of recycling has emerged during the First and Second World Wars as a lifeline for countries suffering from a severe shortage of raw materials. By time, recycling operations have become one of the most important approaches used to manage solid waste, which could be defined as those solid and semi-solid materials that are disposed of at the sites of their generation having no or low economic value, but they may have value in other locations or circumstances. While recycling operations are those operations that work to recover some types of waste such as paper, plastic, glass and metals of all kinds and prepare them through a number of industrial processes for reuse as raw materials. The research aims to clarify the role of recycling operations in improving resource management, starting from not wasting or depleting raw materials till the safe disposal operations of waste, especially plastic waste, as being one of the solid and hazardous waste, as stipulated in Waste Management Regulation Law No. 202 of 2020. The researcher also presents a number of concepts for some side lighting units for children's rooms, which were implemented by the researcher himself from recycled plastic materials and panels made of HDPE and PP, which can also be used as toys for children fond of assembly. | ||||
