Abstract | ||||
In Egypt, the post-powder beetle, Enneadesmus trispinosus Olivier (Coleoptera : Bostrichidae) became an economic pest on date palm leaves. The seasonal abundance was studied under laboratory conditions during the two successive years 1991 and 1992. Periods of occurrence, peaks and annual broods were approximated. Beetles started to emerge from the first half of April until December. Peaks were noticed during late April / early May, late June / early July and early September. Broods were approximated each year during late March / early April to early June / early July, May to September and late July to late December. Infestation increased more than twice throughout only one year. Beetles emergence was affected by temperature and relative humidity. | ||||
