Abstract | ||||
The research problem focuses on observing and analyzing the portrayal of child sexual harassment in Egyptian drama and the extent to which it adheres to social responsibility towards the audience. The study investigates the dramatic treatment of this issue and whether it is handled positively or not, using the TV series Lam Shamsiyya, which displayed on screen during Ramadan 2025, as a case study. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study methodology to derive meaningful insights and conclusions, the most important of which is that :Lam Shamsiyya addressed one of the most silenced and sensitive issues in Egyptian and Arab societies—child sexual harassment, The series approached the topic boldly, yet without offending the values of Egyptian families, avoiding explicit scenes or inappropriate language, It focused on raising awareness about the psychological and physical impacts on victims, and conveyed medical, legal, and social education in a simple, accessible, and engaging way. The series made excellent use of lighting, camera angles, shot sizes, and background music to support the storytelling, along with smooth and coherent dialogue and scriptwriting. Additionally, the series emphasized the role of strong social relationships in protecting children from becoming victims of harassment and in enabling them to confront perpetrators. It successfully applied the principles of social responsibility on multiple levels throughout the drama. Keywords: Child sexual harassment – Social responsibility – Egyptian drama. | ||||
