Abstract | ||||
This study aimed to evaluate the professional preparation of sports recreation specialists based on gender and academic qualification variables, focusing on five core dimensions: leadership skills and effective communication, self-development and continuing education, technological applications in sports recreation, budget and finance management, and organizational/administrative skills. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, researchers administered a specially designed questionnaire to a random sample of 30 sports recreation graduates employed at clubs and youth centers. The research instrument was developed through rigorous scientific procedures, including literature review and validation by five sports recreation experts to ensure content validity and internal consistency. Key findings revealed that "technological applications" ranked highest among professional preparation dimensions, followed by "self-development," "budget management," "leadership skills," and finally "organizational skills." Notably, the results showed no statistically significant differences in professional preparation assessments based on gender or between holders of higher qualifications and postgraduates, indicating consistent training and practical experience levels across these variables. The study recommends enhancing practical training programs for specialists, with particular emphasis on developing technological, leadership, and organizational competencies which received relatively lower ratings. It also proposes creating continuous professional development programs focused on field applications and establishing a unified professional competencies framework for sports recreation specialists encompassing all five dimensions as an evaluation and development benchmark. These findings highlight the need for curriculum improvements in sports recreation education and underscore the importance of field-based training over theoretical knowledge in professional preparation. | ||||
