Abstract | ||||
This study aimed to measure the dimensions of psychological and environmental alienation among Nubians contemporary to the displacement period, and to compare those contemporary to those not contemporary to the displacement period. The study sample consisted of (96) individuals, divided into two groups: (45) individuals over 60 years old, and (52) individuals under 60 years old, with ages ranging from (30-80) years old. The study relied on a set of tools: the alienation questionnaire and the Big Five Personality Factors Scale. The results showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between psychological alienation and the alienation scale. There is a statistically significant relationship between psychological alienation and the Big Five Personality Factors Scale. There are no statistically significant differences between the study sample, those who are contemporary and those who are not contemporary to the displacement stage, for each of the psychological alienation scales, the Big Five Personality Factors Scale, and the alienation questionnaire. Therefore, the study recommends the necessity of holding permanent dialogue workshops that bring together Nubian youth to identify the problems and effects of their feelings of alienation, identify them, and work to treat them. Design community programs with the aim of improving the communication environment between Nubian youth and older families. Create a simulation model for ancient Nubia as a national project, with the aim of introducing and educating community members about the sacrifices made by The Nubians fought to protect Egyptian lands from flooding and to build a powerful and important engineering structure like the High Dam. | ||||
