Abstract | ||||
The study aimed to investigate the economic and environmental impact of reducing the carbon footprint of cement factories in Egypt in light of enhancing environmental quality and combating climate change. It also aimed to identify the methods used in cement factories to reduce the carbon footprint. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers designed a questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of the research community, consisting of officials in the executive, production, operational, and environmental protection sectors of a cement manufacturing group in Egypt. The researchers used the inductive and deductive approach to complete the study, as well as appropriate statistical measures to test the validity of the hypotheses and answer the research questions. The research results showed a statistically significant relationship between the economic impact of reducing the carbon footprint of cement factories and achieving sustainable development standards. It also showed a statistically significant relationship between the environmental impact of reducing the carbon footprint of cement factories and achieving sustainable development standards. The results also showed a statistically significant relationship between reducing the carbon footprint of cement factories and mitigating the phenomenon of climate change. | ||||
