| Abstract | ||||
| The study aimed to reveal the impact of the father's drug use on the family and the disintegration within some Saudi families through the study sample of attendees at family counselling centres. The researcher followed the descriptive approach. He designed two questionnaire forms, one for application to the addict's family, including the wife and children, and the other for social workers dealing with cases. The questionnaire was applied to 40 families of addicts in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. It was also applied to 40 family specialists working at the State Psychiatric Hospitals in the Western Region. The study found a number of results, the most important of which: that patients' trends towards the role of a social worker are strong positive trends and represent the most important elements in the process of the social worker identifying patients with social problems and providing them with sufficient time to solve them s approach and professional honesty, as well as the personal characteristics of the social worker. | ||||
