Abstract | ||
Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare by enhancing patient management and clinical decision-making. However, successful integration requires nurses to have a positive perspective and readiness to embrace AI technologies. Aim: This study aimed to assess the impact of an AI education program on nurses' perspectives and attitudes toward AI in healthcare. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was conducted at Badr University Hospital, affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Helwan University. A convenience sample of 77 nurses participated. Data were collected using two tools: a self-administered questionnaire assessing nurses' perspectives on AI and the General Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Scale. Results: Post-intervention, 84.4% of nurses demonstrated a high level of AI knowledge, sustained at 79.2% in follow-up, compared to 15.6% pre-intervention. Similarly, 81.8% exhibited a positive attitude post-intervention, with a slight decline to 77.9% in follow-up, compared to 16.9% pre-intervention. Conclusion: The AI education program significantly improved nurses' perspectives and attitudes, emphasizing the need for ongoing professional development to ensure AI adoption in healthcare.
