Abstract | ||||
Food has been, and still a major factor for humans throughout ancient and modern times. It has been linked with all aspects of religious, economic, cultural, and social life. It also played an important role in daily life, as well as in funeral life, through the funeral meals that served to the deceased. Moreover, throughout ancient times, humans placed great importance on various feasts and festivals, as they expressed their feelings, inclinations, and desires. These were the moments people clung to in order to forget the worries of life, especially during the Greek and Roman eras. This study will discuss the food and beverage associated with the feasts and festivals in Egypt during the Greek and Roman eras. In addition to, this study aims to link feasts with food and beverage, rather than describing the details and manifestations of the feasts and festivals. These feasts and festivals will be divided into three main types: religious feasts, official feasts, and special festivals. The study will also explain the various food and beverage associated with these feasts and festivals. | ||||
