Abstract | ||||
The research deals with an approach to benefit from educational buildings' roofs instead of neglecting them with the aim of contributing to solving some of the problems facing educational buildings by providing additional spaces with various activities, where it can be used for adding aesthetic values and the needs and requirements it provides for students and teachers, in addition to working to increase green spaces. The research aims to present some suggestions for the design of educational buildings' roofs as a vertical extension of the internal space by addressing the considerations To be considered in order to benefit the educational buildings' roofs and design them successfully. It consists in the general regulations governing the construction and design of the elements that will be created in the roofs and taking into account their requirements. In addition to clarifying the Design standards for educational buildings' roofs by providing additional spaces for education and taking into account the characteristics of growth for students by providing open and covered playgrounds , activity rooms and places for practical training in agriculture. The research highlighted the most important Interior design standards for educational buildings that are in line with the new educational system according to Dunn & Dunns' learning styles. The research concluded with reaching the specific criteria that make the roof a successful vertical extension of the building by achieving security and safety for students and teachers, and easy access to the surface, in addition to the physiological and psychological effects of colors on students. | ||||
