| Abstract:The current study targeted identify the effect on building the social capacities of youth on the effectiveness of their participation in development issues in the UAE society, Hence, the study came to identify the effect on building the social capabilities for youth, and highlighting their role in increasing the effectiveness of youth in participating in development issues ,and Clarifying the development issues that most interest for youth, and developing proposals to increase the effectiveness of youth participation in development issues , also this study aimed at determining the relationship between some demographic variables and the in building the capacity to (Take social responsibility - social participation - and social communication) for youth as a orientation towards their participation in development issues in the Emirati society , The study adopted procedural concepts, which is the concept of youth, who fall into the age group of (15-29) years, And the concept of social capabilities building as a process carried out by youth bodies and centers with the aim of developing knowledge, experience, capabilities, skills and attitudes in various political, cultural and educational aspects through education, training and rehabilitation programs implemented by these bodies and centers, Which contribute to enabling young people to enhance their capabilities and alleviate any suffering they may face, and this was measured through the Social Capacity Building Tool for Youth (researcher preparation), The field study was applied using the social survey method using the simple random sample method on a sample of Emirati youth in universities and youth centers, and their number reached (286) individuals, in order to reach and analyze the results of the study, The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which is that the process of building the social capabilities of youth increases their chances of participation in development issues, and participation in development activities in society will only be achieved through improving the social performance of youth by building their capacities. There is also clear support for the idea of teamwork and considering social responsibility as a success for any development work. The largest percentage of respondents expressed their interest in participating in family issues, followed by mental health and quality of life issues, in convergence with issues of volunteering and social responsibility, health issues, political participation issues, and issues woman, In the last order of respondents ’interest in development issues came“ housing issues ”, labor and immigration issues. The results also indicated that there is an urgent need to educate young people about the idea of volunteer work, as the largest percentage of respondents showed that they did not volunteer in youth institutions. The study reach that there is an effect of the culture of building social participation in order to move from the idea of awareness to the idea of the creative idea and encourage youth to innovate initiatives related to development issues in order to achieve sustainable development in society. The study ended by developing a vision to increase the effectiveness of youth participation in development issues, such as the need to establish centers to develop the social capabilities of Emirati youth, and the need to create a second row of youth leaders to provide them with the ability to lead and assume social responsibility and participate in making the appropriate decision at the appropriate time. | ||||
