Abstract | ||||
The study focuses on the syntactic structure in the poetry of Ibrahim Al-Khatib, with a deeper dive in the observation of several features of syntactic shifts that have emerged in his poetry. These repositions are considered one of the most important stylistic phenomena that grant the text new poetic attributes, which would not have been possible without the creativity of poets who took it upon themselves to break the standard known grammatical rules. These new features and meanings were unimaginable by the language when it adhered strictly to its rigorous standards. The study found a rich material in the employment of syntactic deviation in Ibrahim Al-Khatib's poetry, particularly in its various manifestations. Among the most prominent is the phenomenon of inversion (preposing and postponing), which played a significant role in adding a new aesthetic and semantic dimension to the poetic text. | ||||
