Abstract | ||||
This thesis in modern linguistics aims at clarifying the principles of pragmatic ideology through an invaluable declarative study of "Alkashaf" by the great linguist, grammarian and interpreter, Abul-Qasem Jaar-Allah Mahmoud Omar Al-Zamakhshari Al-Khawarezmi (467 AH/ 538 AH). It is a descriptive analytical study of applied pragmatics. This study consists of an introduction, preface, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction clarifies the plan of the study, and determines its methodology. The preface includes the origin of pragmatics in Arabic studies and western studies, the definition of pragmatics, and the relation between pragmatics and other sciences. The first chapter tackles Al-Zamakhshari's study of entailment. The second chapter presents Al-Zamakhshari's study of speech acts. The third chapter highlights Al-Zamakhshari's study of conversational implicatures. The conclusion includes the findings of the thesis. | ||||
