| Abstract | ||
| Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the effect of micro fragmented adipose tissue injection and bone marrow aspiration concentrate injection in patient with temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis. Material and methods: Eighteen participants with TMJ osteoarthritis were divided into three groups, six participants in each group, group A: injected with hyaluronic acid (control group), group B: injected with micro-fragmented adipose tissue (MFAT), group C: injected with bone marrow aspiration concentrate (BMAC). All patients were assessed preoperatively and postoperatively at 1day,1week, 2week, 1month, 3 months, and 6 months for pain level, maximum interincisal opening, lateral, protrusive movements, joint tenderness and disk position with MRI after 6 months. Results: In the three groups, all clinical variables showed statistically significant discrepancy postoperatively. Conclusion: Despite the shortcomings of the current study the following could be concluded: MFAT and BMAC had a promising effect on treatment of TMJD. | ||
