Abstract | ||||
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine how two distinct CAD/CAM occlusal veneers' vertical marginal fits were affected by finish line designs. Materials and Methods: A sound second lower molar was scanned using intra oral scanner& digitally prepared to receive occlusal veneers using Exocad software following standard preparation guidelines for ceramic occlusal veneer. Hybrid ceramic master die & thirty two ceramic occlusal veneers were constructed by CAD/CAM system. The later was produced from Celtra Duo& Vita Enamic with 1mm thickness. The samples were divided into two groups (n=16) according to finish line design, which were chamfer finish line group and indefinite finish line group. Each of these groups were subdivided into another two subgroups each of which contains 8 samples. One of the two subgroups was Zirconia reinforced lithium disilicate ceramics (Celtra Duo) occlusal veneer, while the other Subgroups were Hybrid ceramics (Vita Enamic) occlusal veneer. All veneers were adhesively bonded to their corresponding die by using light cure adhesive resin cement. Marginal discrepancy will be examined for each group by a stereomicroscope. Results: ANOVA test was performed and found that the difference was statistically significant between groups. Statistical analysis showed that (Indefinite) finish line recorded statistically significant higher marginal gap than (Chamfer) finish line design with different materials. Conclusion: Marginal accuracy of different materials affected by finish line design, marginal accuracy of Celta Duo constructed with chamfer margins is better than that with indefinite margin designs and Vita Enamic with chamfer or indefinite margins | ||||
