| Abstract | ||||
| Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of preparation depth on marginal accuracy of translucent zirconia laminate veneers after thermomechanical fatigue. Materials and methods: Three similar typodont maxillary central incisors were prepared with different preparation depths to receive ceramic veneers and then duplicated using epoxy resin to produce thirty dies that were divided equally into three groups according to preparation depth, Group 1: No preparation, Group 2: Minimally invasive preparation with vertical finish line (0.25± 0.05 mm), and Group 3: Conventional preparation design with chamfer finish line (0.5± 0.1mm). A total of 30 KATANATM Zirconia STML laminate veneers (N=30) were designed and milled using CAD/CAM machine. All veneers were adhesively bonded to their corresponding epoxy resin dies using dual cure self-adhesive resin cement and then subjected to a thermo-mechanical fatigue procedure using a ROBOTA chewing simulator. Marginal accuracy of each sample was evaluated through measuring the marginal gap distances using a digital microscope. Results: The mean values and standard deviations of total marginal gap measurements of the three study groups were Statistically analyzed, one-way ANOVA showed that there were no significant differences in overall marginal gap values within groups (P >0.05) Conclusion: different preparation depths of laminate veneer restorations has no effect on the marginal adaptation. | ||||
