Abstract | ||||
In this paper, a numerical study is carried out to possibility study of replacing symmetric steel sections in the steel-concrete composite (SCC) beams with mono-symmetric steel sections. In addition, making comparisons of the behaviour of mono-symmetric steel sections with symmetrical steel sections provided with channel shear connectors. Also, this research is intended to evaluate the economic side between mono-symmetric and symmetric steel sections. In this respect, four steel concrete composite (SCC) beams were modeled using ABAQUS 6.14 to study the effect of the steel section on the behaviour of the SCC beams and to appear the cost-effectiveness of using mono-symmetric steel sections in steel-concrete composite (SCC) beams. The material consumption was compared. The differences in structural performance and economic cost for the two sections were explored. It's expected to provide a reference for the design of different types of steel structures. This analysis will help determine the most economical solution while ensuring safety and efficiency in design. | ||||
