Abstract | ||
This study was conducted to isolate and identify multiple samples of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from wound infections in Mansoura, Egypt. A total of 100 wound swab samples were collected from patients admitted to three different hospitals in Mansoura. These samples were processed and analyzed using standard biochemical identification methods. The biochemical tests employed in this study included the MacConkey agar test, Cetramide agar test, Oxidase test, Simmon’s Citrate test, Triple Sugar Iron (TSI) test, and Catalase test. These tests are commonly used for the identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa due to their reliability in differentiating it from other bacterial species. Each sample was carefully examined to ensure accurate identification. Among the 100 wound swab isolates tested, 41 samples were confirmed to be Pseudomonas aeruginosa based on the biochemical test results. The findings of this study highlight the prevalence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in wound infections within the studied hospitals, emphasizing the importance of proper bacterial identification for effective infection control and treatment strategies. | ||
