| Abstract | ||||
| مثلت الذاكرة أشكالًا عدة في الرواية السعودية، وقد حملت الذاكرة سلطتها في تأثيرها على فهم الحاضر وقدرتها على استرجاع الماضي مما يهيئ الطريق لوعي الذات وتجذيره وسيرورة بنائه حتى رهانات العصر الحاضرة وتشكيل الهوية. الذاكرة قد تبدو صادقة في إعادة بناء الواقع أو مخاتلة في استخدامها للنسيان ذريعة لإعادة هذا البناء للوعي والتعاطي معه حسب حاجتها ورؤيتها الجديدة. وقد درس الناقد بول ريكور الذاكرة وما يقابلها النسيان في كتابه (الذاكرة، التاريخ النسيان)، وقد سلك البحث مساره في استخراج تمثيلات الذاكرة ومدى قوة النسيان أو ضعفه تجاهها، وقد اعتمد البحث رواية (عتمة الذاكرة) لتخصصها في سردية الذاكرة من خلال المنهج التأويلي، وأظهر البحث ثلاثة تمثيلات للذاكرة وهي: الذاكرة الجريحة، الذاكرة المتلاعب بها، الذاكرة الملزمة بالعدل وما قاربها من نسيان احتياطي وفعًال، وقد خلص البحث إلى عدة نتائج، منها: برزت كل ذاكرة بمحمولاتها السردية وفقًا لتكوينها وزمن ظهورها في الرواية، وحاول النسيان مساعدة الذاكرة في الاستشفاء والخلوص، استطاعت الذاكرة القيام بواجبها الأخلاقي تجاه الذات وعلاقتها بالآخرين وألزمتها بالعدالة في تحقيق التصالح والعفو. Memory has taken on various forms in the Saudi novel, carrying with it the power to influence the understanding of the present and the ability to recall the past, thereby paving the way for self-awareness, its deep-rooting, and the ongoing process of its formation up to the current era’s challenges and the shaping of identity. Memory may appear truthful in reconstructing reality, or it may be deceptive, using forgetfulness as a pretext to rebuild consciousness and engage with it according to its needs and new perspective. The critic Paul Ricœur studied memory and its counterpart, forgetfulness, in his book Memory, History, Forgetting. This study follows a path of exploring representations of memory and the extent to which forgetfulness holds power over it or lacks such power. The research is based on the novel Darkness of Memory, which specializes in the narrative of memory, employing an interpretive methodology. The study reveals three representations of memory: wounded memory, manipulated memory, and memory bound by justice—along with associated forms of forgetfulness, both passive and active. The study concluded with several findings, as follows: each type of memory emerged with its narrative content according to its formation and the time of its appearance in the novel; forgetfulness attempted to assist memory in healing and recovery; memory was able to fulfill its moral duty toward the self and its relationship with others, committing it to justice in achieving reconciliation and forgiveness. | ||||
