Through an in-depth analysis of contemporary examples of AI-driven job displacement across diverse sectors and geographical locations, the paper establishes the growing trend towards automation and its broad implications. Moving beyond the immediate economic repercussions, the paper offers a critical analysis of the potential influence of this technological transformation on collective memory, drawing upon foundational and contemporary works in memory studies. It argues that the increasing reliance on AI for information processing and storage may reshape the complex processes through which societies construct, preserve, and transmit their shared history and cultural identities, necessitating a reassessment of the human role in these processes. Furthermore, the paper delves into how the evolving relationship between humans and AI may affect individual experiences of memory, identity formation, and social cohesion, raising questions about the essence of humanity in the face of these transformations. | ||||
