Abstract | ||||
The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of using the differentiated instruction strategy in teaching French to develop certain written expression skills and environmental values among secondary-stage female students at Al-Bu'uth Islamic Institute affiliated with Al-Azhar. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers employed both the descriptive method and the quasi-experimental method with pre- and post-measurements. The research tools—developed by the researchers—consisted of a written expression skills test and an environmental values scale, both of which were validated for reliability and accuracy prior to their application. Statistical analysis of the scores revealed a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students in the pre- and post-tests of the written expression skills test—covering style, grammar, content, clarity of ideas, and coherence—in favor of the post-test. The results also indicated a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the same students in the pre- and post-tests of the environmental values scale, specifically in the dimensions of preserving environmental balance, maintaining public health, rationalizing the use of natural resources, reducing environmental depletion, protecting the environment from pollution, preserving environmental aesthetics, and assuming environmental responsibility—again in favor of the post-test. Based on these findings, the study recommended the integration of the differentiated instruction strategy into various curricula designed for international students enrolled at Al-Azhar. | ||||
