Abstract | ||||
The study sought to present some proposals that enhance mobile learning in developing gig economy skills as an entry point for empowering refugees, making them good citizens and productive agents, rather than a burden on host countries. The gig economy refers to the nature of temporary jobs that often use digital technology to connect clients and workers. It is a modern trend in work and economic activity, whose rise has been fueled by several factors. To achieve this, the study used a descriptive approach. It was divided into three axes: the theoretical framework of the gig economy as an entry point for empowering refugees; the importance of mobile learning in developing gig economy skills to empower refugees; and the conclusion with the results and proposals section The study reached several conclusions, most notably: economic empowerment contributes to resilience and improved livelihoods for both refugees and host communities; digital job opportunities encompassed by the gig economy can reshape refugees' access to decent work; mobile learning provides unprecedented opportunities to improve national economies and is viewed as an enabling tool for achieving sustainable development. Some proposals were made, including: the need to create an enabling environment to harness refugees' potential and empower them economically to achieve their integration; equipping this environment with everything mobile learning requires; strengthening the gig economy to overcome barriers to accessing employment; raising awareness of the importance of mobile learning; and defining its objectives when used to develop refugee gig economy skills. | ||||
