Abstract | ||||
Tree boring insects are serious pests in fruit orchards in Egypt. The status of the most important boring pests ( Synanthedon Myopaeformis, Zeuzera Pyrina, Paropta paradoxa , Chrysobothris dorsata, Chlorophorus varius, Hesperophanes griseus, Macrotoma palmata, Scolytus amygdali, Hypoborus ficus and Phloeotribus scarabaeoides ) was investigated in fruit orchards in Alexandria governorate throughout 1988 and 1989. The host range , rates, degree and type of borer infestation were also studied. Estimation of infestation was carried out at the different cardinal directions and the center of orchards as well as the different parts of the host tree. | ||||
