| Abstract | ||||
| يتناول هذا البحث مجموعة من العملات البيزنطية غير المنشورة التي تعود إلى عهد الإمبراطور هيراكليوس، وذلك بهدف تحديد أقدمها وأحدثها، وبيان العلاقة بينها وبين دور السك التي أصدرتها. ومن خلال فحص هذه العملات، تبيّن أن ثلاثًا منها محفوظة في حالة جيدة تتيح دراستها من حيث التأريخ والطراز الفني. وقد تم تداول هذه العملات داخل مدينة الإسكندرية، حيث اكتُشفت هناك، إلا أن دور السك التي أصدرتها تنوعت بين الإسكندرية والقسطنطينية. وتعكس هذه العملات بعض الأحداث التاريخية من خلال الموضوعات المصورة عليها، كما تُبرز مراحل مختلفة من حكم الإمبراطور هيراكليوس، بدءًا من توليه الحكم، مرورًا بفترة حصار الإسكندرية، وحتي نهاية حكمه عام 641 م. وتبرز هذه الدراسة أهمية المسكوكات كمصدر مباشر لفهم الجوانب السياسية والدينية والفنية في تلك الحقب، إذ توفر قراءة دقيقة للواقع التاريخي من خلال رموز صغيرة تحمل دلالات كبرى، كما تسهم في إبراز دور الإسكندرية كمركز نشط في تداول العملات وإصدارها خلال القرن السابع الميلادي، و توثيق التحولات التي شهدتها الإمبراطورية البيزنطية من خلال مادة العملة ورموزها وصورها الرسمية. This study examines a collection of unpublished Byzantine coins dating to the reign of Emperor Heraclius, with the aim of identifying the earliest and latest among them and clarifying their relationship to the mints that issued them. Upon examination, it was found that three of the coins are preserved in good condition, allowing for analysis in terms of chronology and artistic style. These coins were circulated in the city of Alexandria, where they were discovered, although the issuing mints varied between Alexandria and Constantinople. The imagery on these coins reflects certain historical events and highlights different phases of Heraclius’s reign—from his accession to the throne, through the siege of Alexandria, and until the end of his rule in 641 AD. This study underscores the importance of coinage as a direct source for understanding the political, religious, and artistic aspects of those periods, as it offers a precise reading of historical reality through small symbols carrying significant meaning. It also contributes to highlighting Alexandria’s role as an active center for coin circulation and minting during the 7th century AD, and to documenting the transformations the Byzantine Empire witnessed through the material, symbols, and official imagery of its coinage. | ||||
