Abstract | ||||
This study explorer the inhibitory effects of Acacia nilotica pod extract (ANAPE) on sporulation and coccidial score reduction of Eimeria stiedae oocysts, Main cause of Hepatic coccidiosis in Rabbits colonies. The results demonstrate a dose-dependent reduction in sporulation index with increasing ANAPE concentrations, with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 58 mg/ml. A dose-response curve exhibits a linear relationship between ANAPE concentration and inhibition percentage. Additionally, ANAPE treatment significantly reduces coccidial scores in a dose-dependent manner, with the highest concentration (100 mg/ml) showing the most potent effects. The study also reveals dose-dependent morphological (size and shape) alterations in Eimeria oocysts induced by ANAPE exposure, characterized by increases in overall size and alterations in shape. Phytochemical analysis of ANAPE indicates the presence of various secondary metabolites, including carbohydrates, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, and tannins. These findings suggest that ANAPE possesses potent anti-sporulation properties and may be a valuable agent in controlling Eimeria oocyst sporulation. | ||||
