Abstract | ||||
Background: Informal caregivers support patients after kidney transplantation by helping with medication adherence and daily care. Their awareness of post-transplant needs significantly affects the patient’s recovery and health outcomes. Aim: This study aimed to assess informal caregivers' awareness Regarding Management of patients after kidney transplantation. Research design: A descriptive design was used in this study. Sample: Convenient sample include ( 110) informal caregivers. Setting: This study was conducted in in Nephrology out-patient’s clinic at Nasser Institute Hospital, Egypt. Tool of data collection: One tool as interview questionnaire include four parts, 1st part: Socio-demographic characteristic, 2nd part: Informal caregivers' knowledge, 3rd part: Informal caregivers' reported practices, 4th part: Informal caregivers' attitude scale about management patients after kidney transplantation. Results: 60. % of the studied informal caregivers had poor knowledge, 55.1 % of them had unsatisfactory reported practices. 70.2 % of them had a negative attitude. Conclusion: There a relation between informal caregivers’ knowledge, reported practices and attitude towards studied informal caregiver regarding care of patients after kidney transplantation. There is statistically significant relation between studied informal caregivers’ sociodemographic data and their knowledge, reported practices, and attitude for studied informal caregiver regarding patients after kidney transplantation. Recommendations: Design health education program for informal caregiver and design booklets include all information about care of kidney transplantation patients. | ||||
