Abstract | ||||
Contemporary Egyptian architecture represents a dynamic intersection of historical influences and modern design principles. This research investigates the extent to which contemporary Egyptian buildings embody traditional architectural elements and integrate with local environmental and cultural contexts. The study identifies significant challenges in achieving authenticity, focusing on the balance between preserving traditional aesthetics and meeting modern functional requirements. The research adopts an inductive method, progressing from the constants and local characteristics of Egyptian architecture with cultural heritage to the evaluation and analysis of individual case studies of contemporary Egyptian buildings that claim to embody local cultural heritage. Through an architectural analysis of case studies, including the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom and Basuna Mosque, the research employs qualitative methods, including case studies and expert interviews, By establishing objective analytical criteria based on the constants of traditional Egyptian architecture, the study highlights both successful integrations and superficial applications of heritage vocabulary. The findings provide insights into the evolving narrative of Egyptian architecture, offering a framework for The extent to which contemporary Egyptian Architecture has been achieved that aspire to preserve cultural identity while embracing contemporary innovation. | ||||
