| Abstract | ||||
| Tactical Urbanism (TU) is an innovative, community-driven approach to urban transformation that utilizes low-cost, temporary interventions to enhance public spaces and improve urban mobility. This research explores the theoretical foundations, historical context, and key principles of TU, emphasizing its role in fostering social equity and spatial justice. Case studies from Cairo and Medellín illustrate the effectiveness of TU in formalizing informal street activities, enhancing pedestrian infrastructure, and promoting inclusive urban design. By analyzing a site in Saad Zaghlul Square, Benha, through the lens of Jan Gehl’ psychoanalytic and spatial theories, this study evaluates the psychological and physical aspects influencing urban experiences. The findings highlight TU’s capacity to create vibrant, functional, and adaptable urban environments, demonstrating its potential for widespread application in cities facing socio-spatial challenges. | ||||
