| Abstract | ||||
| The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of a Social Competence Scale designed for kindergarten children at risk of learning disabilities. The study sample consisted of 30 children aged between 6 and 7 years. The research instrument was the Social Competence Scale (developed by the researcher), which in its final form comprises 40 illustrated scenarios divided into three dimensions. The first dimension is Social Responsibility, which includes the sub-dimensions of independence, participation, and commitment, and consists of 15 illustrated scenarios. The second dimension is Social Awareness, including the sub-dimensions of self-regulation, empathy, and rule-following, also consisting of 15 illustrated scenarios. The third dimension is Social Adjustment, which includes the sub-dimensions of school adjustment and family adjustment, and comprises 10 illustrated scenarios. The researcher adopted the descriptive methodology. The results indicated that the Social Competence Scale for children at risk of learning disabilities demonstrates a high degree of validity and reliability, making it a suitable res earch tool for assessing the social competence of kindergarten children at risk of learning disabilities | ||||
