Abstract | ||||
Background: Work passion is a critical psychological factor that drives staff nurses' self-motivation for promoting organizational career growth that aid in building trust that enhance their performance and achieve the intended organizational results. Aim: to assess work passion of staff nurses and its relation to organizational career growth. Design: A descriptive correlational research design. Setting: All units that were in all departments at Benha University Hospital, Qalubya, Egypt. Sample: A simple random sample of staff nurses working at pre-mentioned setting. Tools of data collection: Two tools were utilized namely; work passion questionnaire and organizational career growth scale. Results: Less than three quarters (72.7%) of the studied staff nurses had low level of work passion, while only less than one fifth (15.0%) of them had high level of work passion, additionally, slightly more than three quarters (75.5%) of the studied staff nurses reported low level of organizational career growth, while only minority (4.7%) of them reported high level of organizational career growth. Conclusion: There was high statistical significant positive correlation between work passion and organizational career growth. Recommendation: Hospital administrators could increase work passion of staff nurses through supporting and motivating them by assessing and achieving their needs as possible. Staff nurses could participate in needed workshops, scientific conferences, and continuing education programs that improve their organizational career growth. | ||||
