Abstract | ||
Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, can lead to breathing difficulties, lung damage, and impaired respiratory function, was first recognized in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 then, it has rapidly spread throughout the world. Methods: A total of 180 individuals were included– 60 patients with post COVID-19 avascular necrosis, 60 tested as non-avascular necrosis of COVID-19 and 60 were negatives. All cases were subjected to a complete clinical examination, including a general examination, and laboratory investigations, including measurement of (CBC, CRP, ferritin, IL-6 and d-dimmer), as well as NOS3-rs1799983 and NOS3- rs2070744 polymorphism. Results: Our results showed that respiratory rate, heart rate, WBC and PLT count, D-dimer, CRP, ferritin and IL-6 levels and NOS3-rs1799983 polymorphism were statistically significant difference among post COVID-19 avascular necrosis and non-avascular necrosis groups. However no statistically significant difference observed with other parameters. Conclusions: Finally, NOS3- rs2070744 genotype and allele polymorphism were correlated with the tested parameters than NOS3-rs1799983, with a relation between rs2070744 genotype and avascular necrosis. | ||
