Abstract | ||||
This case study investigated the effect of utilizing action research on enhancing the teaching motivation of EFL student teachers at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University. Student teachers need to be trained systemically on facing motivation problems via implementing action research stages that enable them to be professional teachers. The sample of the study included (8) third-year student teachers. They carried out a suggested program in which they used action research to reflect on their teaching to improve their motivation toward teaching. Several instruments were prepared and used to conduct the research. Reflection sheets, a teaching motivation scale, and a pre/post-test were prepared and administered to the participants of the study. The qualitative analysis of the student teachers’ responses showed their benefit from the program. The results of the study indicated that using action research was effective in enhancing the participants’ teaching motivation. | ||||
