Abstract | ||||
Generic medications have become fundamental in addressing rising healthcare costs while maintaining patient safety and treatment efficacy. This detailed analysis explores the regulatory frameworks, scientific standards, and economic implications surrounding the practice of generic substitution. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of pharmaceutical and bioequivalence standards, which ensure that generics match brand-name drugs in quality, safety, and performance. Furthermore, the paper highlights how cutting-edge technologies, especially bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, are transforming pharmaceutical research. These tools accelerate drug discovery, optimize clinical trial design, and support the development of both branded and generic medicines. The analysis also considers global trends, including the public’s perception of generic drugs and the role of government and industry in shaping acceptance. Ultimately, the discussion underscores the urgent need for transparent regulatory policies and educational campaigns to build trust and awareness. These efforts are vital to maximizing the impact of generic drugs as accessible, effective, and sustainable healthcare solutions worldwide. | ||||
