Abstract | ||||
The phenomenon of linguistic ambiguity has many semantic and grammatical dimensions, especially when dealing with the Quranic text. The translator must be well-versed in his tools in terms of: accurate understanding of the Quranic text; to choose the appropriate and the most accurate meaning intended in the Quranic verse. This research aims to study the phenomenon of ambiguity in the translation of the meanings of Surat Ad-Dukhan by identifying: the concept of linguistic ambiguity, its types, and the problems of semantic and lexical ambiguity in its translation. The research depends on the contextual approach with its internal linguistic and external situational dimensions, which helps to understand the Quranic meaning. It presents a system of elements that strengthen the path of understanding, interpreting, and deducing from it. This research depends on models of translating the meanings of Surat Ad-Dukhan - a Meccan surah - and its number is 44. The researcher chose this surah because it contains this phenomenon. The research relied on the translation of "Jalal al-Din Mujtaba Wi", which considered a good interpretive translation, and the second translation of "Nasser Makarem Shirazi", which is one of the largest translations of the Holy Quran. The research is divided into an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion that includes the results of this research and a list of sources and references that the research relied on in this research. | ||||
