Abstract | ||||
The role of Digital Humanities has become increasingly prominent worldwide in recent years, prompting an exploration of its emergence, tools, achievements, and institutional support within the context of Turkey. This study examines the contributions of the humanities in Turkey through two main trajectories. The first focuses on institutions of cultural memory, including libraries, archives, and cultural, religious, and social organizations. The second addresses digital historical studies from the perspective of Digital Humanities and its methodologies. Accordingly, the paper explores major Turkish libraries and their digital services, as well as the cultural output of various cultural, religious, and social institutions, highlighting their contributions to promoting and disseminating culture both within and beyond Turkey’s geographical boundaries. The study further delves into the role of Digital Humanities and its tools in Ottoman studies, outlining the types of digital historical and cultural research in this field. Finally, it discusses the institutional support provided for the development of Digital Humanities in Turkey. | ||||
