| Abstract | ||||
| This study aims to explore innovative design approaches for young women's fashion by utilizing twisted pleats through the draping on the mannequin technique. The research seeks to elevate creative practice in fashion design by providing a wide scope for experimentation and aesthetic expression using pleats in combination with various fabrics to create garments suitable for different occasions. A total of (12) experimental designs were developed and evaluated by two sample groups (34) fashion specialists and (168) young women aged (between 18 and 30 years). The study followed a descriptive methodology with application, and two structured questionnaires were designed—one for specialists and another for young women—to assess the designs' aesthetic, structural, and technical aspects. The analysis of the designs was based on specific criteria, including design description, fabric and color selection, silhouette and lines, the aesthetics of twisted pleats, and their technical execution. The statistical findings revealed that participants more years of experience, and specialization in draping techniques showed the highest levels of appreciation toward the designs. Among the young women, those with younger age, and smaller body sizes responded more positively. Both sample groups showed acceptance of all twelve designs, albeit with varying levels of preference. | ||||
