| Abstract | ||||
| This summary provides an academic overview of the key ideas related to identity and interculturality in cultural texts. The focus lies on how literature reflects and shapes both individual and collective identities within intercultural settings. Using Barbara Frischmuth’s novel 'Der Sommer, in dem Anna verschwunden war' as a central example, the text highlights how characters experience cultural alienation, hybrid identity, and the negotiation of belonging. The analysis draws on theoretical perspectives such as Stuart Hall’s view of identity as fluid and discursive, and Homi Bhabha’s concept of the 'Third Space' which allows for hybrid cultural experiences. Gender theory, particularly Judith Butler’s ideas on performativity, also plays a significant role in understanding how identity is constructed in the text. Cultural texts serve as mirrors of social dynamics, offering insights into processes of identity formation and intercultural dialogue.
