Abstract | ||||
Background: Musculoskeletal pain has a negative impact on human motor function and quality of life. Transfers Energy Capacitive and Resistive (TECAR) therapy is a non-invasive diathermy modality that utilises radiofrequency to promote tissue repair and alleviate pain. Purpose : To review the literature regarding the effectiveness of TECAR therapy in treating musculoskeletal pain. Material and Methods: The narrative review was conducted using literature retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, published between January 1970 and February 2025. The researches were included only if they were written in the English Language. Results: Twenty-eight studies with 2,009 subjects were included in the review. Neck, shoulder, knee, lower back, and postpartum pain were among the areas where TECAR therapy showed notable improvements in pain reduction. Additionally, TECAR therapy showed enhancement in range of motion, functional impairment, and quality of life. TECAR showed enhancement in recovery from diabetic neuropathy, tendinopathy, and post-surgical procedures. Conclusion :TECAR therapy is a safe, economical, and efficient way to reduce musculoskeletal pain and enhance functional results. It is recommended to be included in the rehabilitation protocols for various musculoskeletal conditions. | ||||
