Abstract | ||||
The flexural behavior of high strength concrete T-beams containing steel fibers and reinforced with locally produced hybrid bars and hybrid schemes was investigated by using twelve half-scale beams divided to three groups. the variables are steel fiber ratios (0%, 0.4%, 0.8%), the reinforcement bar type steel, hybrid scheme (steel+glass fiber bars) and hybrid bars. By increasing steel fiber ratio for beams having the same reinforcement ratio; an increase in ultimate load capacity was noticed by 16%,13%,7% and 11%. Also, by increasing steel fiber ratio the cracking load increases by 28%,48%,20% and 30%. By using hybrid scheme the ultimate load capacity was increased by 39%,30% and 36%; while by using hybrid bars the ultimate load capacity was increased by 74%,65% and 66%. overall the test results showed a significant improvement in the ultimate load, crack load and stiffness of the high strength concrete beams by using steel fiber and hybrid bars. | ||||
