| Characteristics of the North Sinai Coast and its role in the Emergence of the port of Al-Arish, a Geographical Study Mai Zakaria Al-Kaffafi, Ayman Abdel Muttalib Al-Tamami, and Muhammad Fouad Abdel Aziz Al-Arish University, Egypt E-mail: maizakkaria@gmail.com Extract: Al-Arish port (The study area) is located in the northeastern part of Egypt at the coast of Mediterranean Sea. Al-Arish port is the only port in North Sinai. The maritime Shipping is considered the backbone of the international trade movement. The development of any country is connected to increase its external trade with other countries. most countries aim to develop their ports because they are considered the connection between external sea transport and internal transport in its different. Egypt aims to develop Al-Arish port, as its strategic location as a result to linebacker coherence which contains a lot of different raw materials. navigation companies prefer to have their marine lines pass through ports with close geographical locations, Including the port of Al-Arish, because it is near ports of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, European ports, and the Suez Canal.
